Tickets are on sale for the Taste. This is event is the last qualifier in the State of Florida for the World Food Championships. New this year, the event is set for the Inverness Government Center 212 W. Main Street, Inverness. There are 17 chefs serving the public with tastes ranging from $2 to $5. For attendees over 21, there are over 30 breweries for the beer tasting.
Tickets are on sale at TasteofInverness.com and at the Cove Restaurant. General admission is $5 pre-event and day of. The beer tasting and general admission tickets are $25 pre-event and $30 day of. A portion of the ticket sales benefit the Citrus County Education Foundation (CCEF). CCEF provides resources to support Citrus County Schools to enhance the quality of education for present and future generations.

This year’s winner will not only walk away with bragging rights but will take home a waived entry into the 2019 World Food Championships (WFC) in October. “We are expecting more than 500 competitive teams this year at our Main Event, a makeup of chefs, home cooks and pro teams from around the globe,” said Mike McCloud, the CEO and President of WFC. At the five-day WFC, international cooking tournament, WFC competitors will prepare food on-site in timed events that include preparation, speed, signature recipes and presentation. Next, the ultimate taste test will take place in front of certified Food Sport judges using WFC EAT Methodology. The 2019 championship categories include Bacon, Barbecue, Burger, Chef, Chili, Dessert, Recipe, Sandwich, Seafood, and Steak.
