Inverness, Fla. – Every April since 2017, the City of Inverness and Duke Energy join forces for a community event called Friday Night Thunder Goes Green. This musical event with a car cruise-in offers attendees a tree to take home and plant in honor of Arbor Day. This year, Duke Energy provided 200 trees. This year’s tree species included Florida Maples, Holly and Crape Myrtle. This was the third installment of this event that has provided 200 trees each year for a total of 600 trees.
Additionally, Duke Energy supports the City’s year-round calendar of festivals and events that draw thousands to the City’s parks, lakes and its historic downtown district.
