    Participants will experience the thrill of dodging zombies along the Withlacoochee Trail and parts of downtown Inverness. It is a 1.5 mile course that begins at Liberty Park and coils through downtown. Participants decide if they are zombies or runners

    A local talent show for Citrus County residents to showcase their talents at the Cooter Festival. This is a preliminary competition with a Junior (6-12 years old); Teen (13-17 years old); and Adult (18+). This competition is geared towards amateur entertainment such as singers, dancers, acrobats, musicians and magicians. Always the last full weekend in October.     Cooter Festival 3-Day Music Festival Since 2004 October 26-28, 2018 CooterFestival.com (352) 341-7820 Cooter Music Festival is a three-day emerging music festival that gained nationwide notoriety on the Daily Show in its inaugural year. Now the festival is heading into its 14th year with eight bands, water shows, full carnival and an Adventure Zone paddleboard rentals and Segway tours. The belle of the ball is the cooter, which is celebrated with hourly turtle races, a water skiing turtle mascot and turtle merchandise. Free admission and free parking available in the downtown.
